ROZ. PRICKEL

Singer/ Song Writer/ Actor

About

ABOUT ME!

Roz Prickel is a songwriter, singer, and actress born and raised on the east coast and a Minnesota transplant. She had been writing and playing in the twin cities, entwining striking honesty with fantasy in her folk/pop genre. With a bachelors in Fine Art, Roz has a vibrant angle in her songwriting, a true storyteller. In her songs, she draws humor and drama from the well of her former studies.

Roz continues to bring a pop of color to the Midwest Music Scene with her original works. She connects to an audience through moments of comedy, swinging  to the other end of the spectrum with a quiet, vulnerable, piercing truth.

With beginnings in acting, sketch comedy and vocal performance, she is so grateful to now be able to bring her original work to new audiences. As a multi-instrumentalist Roz had a wide variety of sound ranging from folk to indie-pop to musical theatre inspired.

This featured piece, “Fertilizer” was written in the springtime as a humorous take on the idea of turning the other cheek. This northern girl's take on the age old adage "bless your heart."

"But, as I warned, this is not one of those liquor and heartbreak songs, “Tears and Whiskey” is actually advocating the exact opposite. Embrace life, it reminds us, make the most of your time, fill your hours with heart and humour, fun and frivolity, love and friendship. A simple message, but one that is easily forgotten as we get wrapped up in the complexities of modern life, as we get wrapped up in ourselves."
